Join us for Art After Dark - September 8th (6:30 - 9:30 PM)
The 18th Annual Art After Dark event will be held on Saturday, September 8th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM in downtown Houma. Over 75 artist will invade the downtown area with their artistic creations, including paintings, drawings, photography, jewelry, and wood turnings such as bowls, vases and of course, carved ducks and birds. Artists will be exhibiting at 27 locations along Main Street from Barrow to Canal, including Belanger, Goode and Church Streets. These locations include Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild’s Downtown Art Gallery 630 on Belanger Street, Scarlet Scoop Ice Cream Parlor & St. Matthew’s Parish Hall on Barrow Street. Fakier Jewelers will be in their new location on the corner of Barrow & Main.
Sites will continue along Main Street and cross the bayou to visit Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum. As you continue the walk down Main Street, you will encounter artist set up on the sidewalk as well in several inside exhibits. At the Court House Square, you will have the opportunity to listen to the Houma Terrebonne Community Stage Band while browsing the artists located there. Be sure to visit the Terrebonne Folklife Culture center on Goode Street. Make a stop at Downtown Jeaux Coffee Café before heading down to Le Petit Theatre de Terrebonne and Anelas Yoga and Wellness Center and Copperhead Tattoo. Several locations will have refreshments and music provided along the way. Enjoy a night out with the arts.
